CITIZEN JOURNALISM

What???? again seminar...... let me clearify that attending seminar seems to me so boring that you just stuck for some hours and can not do any thing else,and i simply can not do that,but when i come to know that seminar organizing by our department is arranged by Dawn News so automatically my intrest towards the seminar starts to develop,but another problem arise when i open my eyes early in the morning, that was raining but beside that problem i just rushed towards the universty and entered in the Anwar Sultana Auditorium.What i learned from that seminar lets have a look,

"DAWN NEWS WANTS TO SEE THE WORLD THROUGH YOUR LENS"

Why we discuss about citizen journalism , if we prefer experienced person , like journalist ? with this question Owais Mangalwala started his informal lecture on citizen journalism, and he said; Every single citizen has the right to share their feelings,opinions,experties and discoveries.

He also mentioned some key point by which we can write or make perfect report.He emphasizes on reality, reporter should express in their own terms , correct, should be free of all errors, concise,accurate, the report should expound the right meaning,avoid exaggerating,precise on best and valid points associated with writing news, reporter should supervise channel policies and code of conducts / ethics and avoid plagiarism(representing someone else's work as your own) indirectly its a crime,reporters should keep their eyes on.Owais Mangalwala taught,how to face criticism by the people because to get feedback from passive audience is also very necessary,either the feedback is criticizing or encouraging and to implement on those criticism is the real work of journalist . Mass media student participated in this lecture on huge scale,and questionnaire section was also going side by side.He was inter-acting with audience in very informal and answering in a good manner.
He ended his lecture with three step of journalist ;
                         "PEHLAY KAAM , NAAM , PHIR DAAM"

After Owais Mangalwala Miss Humaira took part and interact with audience and gave a thanking speech as a behalf of whole university,specifically masscommunication department.She obsecrated Owais mangal wala to partake in our next seminar also.' we were very pleased to have u here 'with this note,Mss Hmaira ended her thanking speech.Lunch was served after the lecture.
